One Exercise Will Help You Get Up Faster

Burpees!  Learn to love them!  They will help you get off the floor faster when you fall.  Falling will happen and the recovery part is important.


Roller Derby Athletics has a video that shows you eight ways to do burpees.  Start out simple, challenge yourself and move up to the more advanced moves. 






In addition to them helping you get off the floor faster in roller derby, they have lots of side benefits:
1.  This exercise works a ton of muscle groups!  This will help you out all around.
2.  They torch calories.
3. You can do them without any equipment.  Taking a walk in the park?  Drop and do a few burpees.  Hanging out a home and watching TV?  You can do burpees while watching your favorite shows!
4. Already have a workout you love?  Add burpees to it!


Find a Burpee Challenge on Pinterest or via a Google Search.  Stick to it and conquer the burpees.

So grab a fellow Fresh Meat skater to take the challenge!  Challenge one of your trainers, we would happily take part in one.  Post it in our Facebook group.  Having a person do the challenge with you helps you to be accountable.
